Environmentally aware product development

Analyses show that environmental effects in a product’s life cycle are mainly created during the usage phase. Research and development have therefore focused on minimising environmental impact caused by the use of a product.

Smartpack TM is our load sensitive hydraulic system fitted with a variable pump sensor which responds to the pressure needed to lift and compact the materials being loaded. The advantages are, besides speeding up work, lower fuel consumption, and reduced environmental impact.

Electric Hybrid is a unique combination of natural gas and electricity, which is used for the lifting, unloading and compaction device. The gas-fuelled motor shuts down automatically when the driver leaves the vehicle to collect bins or containers. Meanwhile, the electric unit continues to run virtually soundless, reducing noise levels for both the operator and the surroundings. The electric unit is load sensitive, which means that it uses the absolute minimum power necessary to handle the load.

Water hydraulic is an additional feature, which can be incorporated into an electric hybrid refuse truck. As the name implies, the hydraulic oil is replaced with a water hydraulic system to comply with stricter environmental demands as well as responding to ever increasing demands for cleaner technologies.

Vegetable oil may be used in these applications, or other fuels, according to customer requirements.
